Hi,
It balances the female and male energies. For women the right hand down first( balancing the male energy with the female), for men its the other way around. Thank you for the question!
That is a good instruction, the reason is that the forearm has 2 bones, the one that runs from the thumb index finger side up is a lot stronger than the one from the little finger side up. Cupping the palm a little helps, like sucking the center of the palm inward, as well you can see if supporting just the wrist on a sturdy folded blanket , while the rest of the hand and fingers are just on the mat works for you. But don’t push it, build the strength up in your wrists wisely
I was just at an Iyengar class with lots of beginners, and we were told to press the finger mounds (especially first finger and thumb) to take pressure off the wrists. Any suggestions, modifications for students with wrist issues?
We know many people want to do Yoga, but few get the real energy or motivation to do it themselves. You will save a lot of time
by learning motivational skills for becoming consistent on your Yoga at home.
really useful; mainly cuz its a torture pose for me begginer ^^ ill work on it. greetings from mexico city.
Skillful indeed. The movement seems so graceful and effortless.
Thanks again Esther

This is just the challenge I needed to go further in my practice. Thank you.
